Your Imagination is Like the Vehicle of Your Mind

One day I was at the gas pump, filling up my car. While I was looking at my car, I started to think about how cool it was to have a car.

When you jump into your car, you are free to drive anywhere. You can explore landscapes unfamiliar to you, breathtaking and bountiful. You can be in totally different scenery or another neighborhood in just minutes.

Your imagination is like the vehicle of your mind. You can use it to drive anywhere. You can put yourself into beautiful terrain, surroundings and environments that stimulate your senses, uplift and inspire you.

Take a road trip in your mind today. Visually see yourself getting into your car and direct it to drive right into your dream/manifestation. Take your Creation Partner or Spirit with you on the tour and show them what you want. Describe it to them, out loud, even. Feeeeeel it!

If it is a house you would like to manifest, pretend you are driving into a neighborhood where your dream house awaits. Pull up into the driveway. Get out and behold the beauty of the landscaped front year. Notice the color and texture of your home. See as you are looking out of your own eyes. Open the door and smell what your home smells like. See your family, friends, favorite people there, if you wish. Walk around and feel the flooring under your feet. Look at the colors and decorations on the walls. Feel how wonderful it is to be here.

If it is a successful business you would like to manifest, get into your car (even if your business is in your home). Pull up into the driveway. Feel the exhilaration of beginning a new day totally engrossed in what you do. Walk into your office. What do you notice first? What does your dream office feel like?  Look at your calendar. See what is lined up for you today. Who are you meeting with and talking to?  Feel the exhilaration of making these connections and being of service. Feel what it feels like to be fully connected to Source and feeling energized by your work. See the next steps and new ideas flowing easily to you.

If it is money that you want, get into your car. Pull up to the bank/credit union/mail box. Open up your mailbox or checkbook or statement. Feel how exciting it is to have that much money in your account. See yourself doing a little happy dance because you are so juiced and jazzed about the prosperity flowing in your life.

If you feel stuck, runaway in your mind. Every time you are in a negative mood, have a negative thought, behavior or pattern, mentally get into your car and drive away (to your manifestation instead) or to a more pleasant site/place/feeling. Runaway in your mind and allow the new vision to shift your perspective to a brighter state of being. This is the key.

You are in the driver’s seat. You can go anywhere in your imagination. Take the vehicle of your mind out for an adventure today. Next thing you know, you may be physically enjoying what was just a mental picture not that long ago.

Why Life is Like a Snowy Car Ride

One December morning, I was having a mental conversation with myself whether I should stay at my office and work on the ever-mounding projects or take the day to spend at a gathering of special people. I rationalized that it was a really snowy morning and the drive was going to be challenging. Perhaps I should just stay home instead.  This ping-pong match went on in my head while I proceeded to get ready.

I decided I would trek out and give the drive a try. While on the snowy car ride, I had a realization that a snowy car ride is like our journey through life.

Before I began my journey, one of my friends told me the roads were clear at my final destination. She blessed my car with Reiki and I called in angels for support. I was blessed!

The truth is that we all are blessed on our journey through life and we never travel alone.

I knew the roads were clear at my final goal or destination and kept that thought in the back of my mind. I also anchored in the feeeeeeling of  ‘this is easy’ and revisited it often  during the journey as a reminder.

I had a clear vision of what I wanted to experience as the end result, then focused on feeling at ease the whole way.

I started out my journey with a bit of apprehension. I could have stayed home and canceled the outing or face my fears. I chose to face my fears, knowing it may be a bit rough, especially at first. I kept hearing my dad’s voice in my head,” if the roads are bad – stay HOME!”

When you begin to face your fears, old beliefs resurface that can cause you to doubt yourself and what you are doing. That’s normal. The fears don’t need to stop you.

Then, I settled into the ride with an image and feeling of the clear roads on the TV screen in my mind. I focused intently on the road and taking my time. At one point I relaxed and surrendered – just taking it moment by moment.

I stayed very alert and awake to the present moment.

Suddenly I noticed myself feeling in this expansive/endless space of time. I began to feel a deep appreciation for the group of friends I was going to be meeting with. My heart felt so much love. My thoughts naturally went to each and every person in the group, individually. I thought about what I appreciated about each of them.

Gratitude shifts your perspective, expands your heart and improves your experience.

Then my attention became focused on how far I had already come. I had already gone past several towns and was slowly, surely and almost automatically making my way. It was working.  I was appreciating what I was seeing out the window. The roads got better and better. I could speed up. Near the end of the journey, it was as promised. Smooth sailing. It seemed effortless. And joy-filled!

I was where I wanted to be. I was at my final destination. I could and did celebrate my success!

So, if you ever feel unsure of where you are on the journey, ask yourself ‘where am I in the process’? Let go and know that your destination awaits you. Remember the more you are clear on where you are going, move beyond any fears that come up, stay present in this very moment, finding gratitude in what’s right in front of you, and trust that you are supported all the way, the faster and more amazing your journey and your final destination is! May we all feel blessings on our journey.

Is Surrender Giving Up?

Not long ago, I was talking to a woman who had been struggling with a new career direction her husband wanted to make. She vehemently complained about how it would impact her, what she didn’t like about it and why it wasn’t a good idea. Meanwhile, her husband stayed open to his new career interest, much to her chagrin, and it gained momentum

Other people seemed to come out of the woodwork in support of his new career interest. He would receive calls from people he didn’t know positively upholding his newfound work interest. He was asked to attend meetings where the viability and validation for his new interest was reinforced. After months of resistance and struggle on the wife’s part, she decided to surrender the situation to God to figure out. She said ‘Ok, God, if this is the path my husband is meant to take, then please figure out the details to make it work for all of us.’

Is surrender giving up? Yes, in one sense. Surrender is letting go of the stress, strain and resistance that serves as a roadblock on our journey. It is giving up the how and the details – which allows us to tap into a Higher Source – and unlimited possibilities. And, in another sense, surrender is also giving back. The surrender is actually freeing that mental and physical energy, which was tied up into resistance, back to you. This newly released energy shows up in the form of inspired action. Inspired action arises within you as an inner yearning, desire, knowing or feeling. It is a sure-footedness of your next step. It may not be the action your mind thought you would be taking, but indeed it is the very one that guides you closer to your true self and back to peace in your heart.

What happened after the wife surrendered was remarkable. Her perspective completely changed. Her resistant energy was exchanged for inspiration. She received new ideas and support for a project she had been frustrated by and felt stuck with. She found a source of additional money in the family budget to pay for someone to help her complete the project. She actually offered to help her husband succeed at his new career interest by utilizing her skills. She was living in a much more joyful state.

Amazing things can happen when you remove the roadblocks of resistance by letting go of trying to figure out the ‘how’ and expecting things to look or come about in a certain way. Today, if you find yourself feeling stuck or resisting something or someone, enlist the assistance of Spirit to help you to give up the mental struggle and make clear the way to your manifestation.

The Two Faces of Desire

A desire is a strong, intense feeling that can either have an aspect of abundance or an aspect of lack, depending on the mindset you have.

Let’s say you have a desire to bring about a change or manifest something new in your life. The difference within the desire between between lack and abundance can be subtle. Let’s take a careful look at where you are coming from as you clarify and focus on your desire.

Here are 2 scenarios to help us do that:
Scenario 1
You see a sale on a CD/DVD series featuring one of your favorite teachers. You begin to think about the product being on sale for just 2 more days. You think about feeling out of sorts lately and how this series may be just the thing to get you back on track. You may say to yourself, “I need to get this to get me out of this rut I’m in. Maybe this is what will turn things around.” Then you begin thinking about how to come up with the money to pay for it. The mindset here is rooted in desire, but with a feeling of lack. The thought is repetitive “how can I get it” and more impulsive and urgent from the standpoint that you don’t have it.

Outcome: You decide to shift your focus and not wait for something or someone to do it for you.

Scenario 2
You have been working through a DVD learn-at-home series that has really helped you release old patterns and limitations. Initially, you purchased virtually every product in the kit, except for the workbook. As you are working through the exercises, you notice that it would be really helpful to have the workbook. At the moment, you are cognizant of your budget and realize it isn’t the ideal time to make a purchase. You decide you will work through what you can on your own and honor your commitment to your budget. You sometimes think “Wow! It would be really cool to have the workbook. I would love to be able to do the exercises in it and utilize that information. That would be really neat. I would like it because I have benefited so much from the material already. This would just add to it.”

The mindset here is rooted in desire and has an abundance feeling to it. You relinquish the attachment to the outcome. That means it’s great if you get it, but will be ok if you don’t.

Outcome: You call the company to see if the missing information is located in any other product that you already have or have access to from them. They decide to send you the workbook for free. In a shipping error, they erroneously mail you 2 copies and tell you to keep them both.

These are real life examples and manifestation lessons to boot! When you shift your desire to a feeling of abundance and release your attachment to the outcome, then you make room for Spirit to work wonders at lightening speed.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to help align you with your manifestation.

Ask yourself:
How do I feel about this desire?
1. Is it from a desperate place of yearning, a sense of urgency, feeling deficient or a craving to fill a hunger?
2. Are you tied to it and having thoughts like: “If I don’t get it then I’ll be sunk. I have to have it!”?
3. Is it an aspiration and desire that lifts you up, inspires you and has you moving ahead toward your purpose and goals?
4. Can you walk away from it with the feeling that it would be great to have it and I’ll be OK if I don’t?
5. Does the desire allow you to say YES to yourself in a bigger way?

If you honestly answered YES to questions 1 and 2, then you may want to go back to the drawing board on your desires — what you want to manifest and why. Find ways to shift your perspective to one of abundance in the moment.

If you honestly answered YES to questions 3, 4 and 5, then continue to feel good and trust the manifestation process has sprouted wings. Go about your day minding your vibration and see it on its way to you.

Happy Manifesting!

Taking Notice of Small Things

All this talk of manifesting your dreams. What happens when it seems like no-thing happens? You take notice of small things. I am talking minuscule to begin with.

When it seems like not much is happening, actually there is quite a bit happening. A series of small things really does add up to some big things.  For example, when you find change on the ground, do you pick it up and say ‘big deal’? or do you get excited because it is a sign that you are allowing more money to flow into your life?

When your favorite product is on sale, do you toss it in your cart without a second thought or do you get excited that there is more you are receiving in your experience and for your money?

When your child hangs up his coat, do you assume they should, or do you celebrate the way they are helping keep the house clean and taking personal responsibility?

When you wake up in the morning do you grumble about the alarm going off so early or do you feel grateful for being able to get out of bed?

Each of these things in and of themselves may not seem like much. Yet, when you cultivate the habit of taking notice of small things, you really do begin a chain reaction. That is, through steady, habit-forming awareness and gratitude. You are saying “YES” to those small things and in turn cultivating more positive experiences in your life of a larger magnitude. Besides, it is much more fun to live on the positive side of life and witness the amazing synchronicities that come with it!

You can intentionally cultivate more positive experiences in your life by taking notice of the small things and writing them down daily. Each day, see if you can top the number of positive noticings from the previous day. Happy findings!

Keeping the WHY Alive

Goals, dreams and manifesting — there is an undercurrent of energy that surges beneath all of these things. It is the energy of passion– excitement, enthusiasm and desire. It is the WHY behind all of the experiences that you are wanting. It is accompanied by the essence of how you would like to feel.

The passion that helps you focus on your vision also pulls your desire into reality and keeps you committed to it.

As you are identifying changes you would like to make or goals you have, ask yourself, “Why do I want this? How will I feel?” Write down all of the reasons, no matter how small or big. Keep the WHY alive by revisiting it often to help you align your actions to it and anchor what you passionately want to create into your reality.

Why is a powerful 3-letter word in the English language. Let it be a guide for you to discover the underlying driving force of your dreams. Amping up the passion is one way to accelerate attracting your dreams into reality in a magnetic and graceful way.

Making Peace with the Cluttered Cupboard

Have you ever had a drawer, cupboard or closet that became the place where everything was thrown into and one day it was either so jammed packed or so messy you just had to clean it out? It may have taken you a lot to muster up the energy to pull everything out, toss some things, give some away and reorganize it. Yet ultimately, it became a wonderful place to feel really good about.

When we hang on to old patterns, addictions, emotions and resist change, we are like a jammed pack cupboard. There is little or no room for new and better experiences, events and things to come into our space or life.

While we first need to identify what we would like to experience in our life and give attention to it, we also need to make room for the new experience by clearing away the mental and emotional clutter that can block the way.

One way to begin identifying the mental and emotional clutter and clearing it is to tune into the things you say to yourself — the messages and stories you are telling yourself about your interpretation of the world. We all have countless thoughts going through our minds each day. Have you stopped to ask yourself how many of them are true?  As you become more aware of your thoughts you can begin to stop them in their tracks, question them, not take them so seriously and even reword them into more positive statements. Sometimes we have blinders on about the messages and stories we tell ourselves. It can be helpful to have a person whom you can confide in to help you identify and declutter your mental and emotional cupboard so that you can feel the relief and joy of what you really want to experience.

Our mind is a powerful tool, but truly our heart is the one that leads the way to a joyful life that is uniquely your creation with Spirit.

Charting Your Course

Life is like a road trip. To get from where we are to where we want to be, we first need to know where we want to be, or more precisely what we want. We have most likely been places we haven’t enjoyed or experienced what we don’t want. These experiences can actually help us gain clarity on what we do want and where we’d rather be. But, you can’t get to your destination if you don’t know what it is.

If you decide you want to go on a trip there are certain questions you need to ask yourself. First, what’s my destination? Where do I want to go?  Why would I like to go there? What is my mode of transportation? Do I have a map or route to guide me there? What resources do I need to get there?

How do you begin to chart your course? If you are sitting in the middle of what you don’t want to experience, begin to think about what you would rather be experiencing, or your end destination, as if it were already here. How would that feel? What would that look and sound like? Why do you want it? Write it down and begin to utilize your imagination to create it. Your mind doesn’t know the difference between fact and fiction, so put it to work for you to create what you want. Then begin to focus on and celebrate all the little things that are showing up in your life creating movement in the right direction. Take inspired action toward your destination. Determine if you would like additional support to shorten your trip and keep you on course to your destination. Since the joy is in the journey, remember to create fun and stop and smell the roses along the way!

Gratitude Powers Your Ship

Gratitude powers and fuels the ship. What is the ship? It is you as the captain of your own vessel and what you would like to create with Spirit.

Gratitude is a catalyst for change, through opening more space of higher and higher vibration into your life. It’s like opening the shade of a dark room and allowing the sunlight to kiss all corners of the room. The dark is gone, with only light replacing it.

Gratitude focuses on what is working and affirms that you want more of it. Gratitude magnetizes your manifestations to you with gale force magnetic power.

Sometimes we want things to change, yet allow ourself to get caught up in the day- to-day activities and demands in our life. We can find ourselves mentally wanting to change and not always having the energy to summon feelings of gratitude.

If you are not ‘in the mood’ to feel grateful, try this to shift your energy:

Start with something small and just begin to notice it. Complete the following sentences:

I am grateful for ______________, because _________________ .

                                     A                                                             B

When __________ I feel ___________. When I feel _____________,

.                         B                                C                                               C

 I also feel ____________ because __________________.

.                                 D                                             E

Here’s an example:

I am grateful for being outside right now because the air feels fresh on my skin. When the air feels fresh I feel clear-headed and more energetic. When I feel more energetic, I also feel excited to be alive because I know I am attracting more positive possibilities to me.

Every little positive shift in perspective brings an accompanying shift in positive energy and the energetic signal you send out to the world. Remember, steadily, step-by–step is how the wise tortoise won the race. It is how you incrementally and positively raise your vibration and change your experience, too. It is helpful to surround yourself with cheerleaders who support your endeavors.  While no one can be in charge of your energy signal except you, the support of others can help you continue on if you feel tired and discouraged and chart a smoother path to actualizing your manifestations.
